The Opportunity:
As the QA (Quality Assurance) Manager at our meat factory, you will be responsible for ensuring that all quality control measures are implemented and maintained throughout the production process. Your role will involve overseeing various Quality Assurance procedures, documentation, and compliance with industry regulations to uphold the highest standards of product quality and safety.
Hours:
We operate Monday to Saturday 7am-4pm, working days are negotiable and we offer flexibility on start and finish times!
Your duties will include:
- Implement and maintain Quality Assurance protocols and procedures throughout all stages of meat production.
- Conduct regular inspections of production processes, equipment, and facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and workers to address any quality-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of quality control procedures, inspection records, and compliance reports.
- Foster a culture of quality and accountability, promoting awareness and understanding of quality requirements and driving a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyse data related to product quality, including raw materials, processing conditions, and finished products, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to investigate and resolve customer complaints or quality-related incidents.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement in Quality Assurance processes.
- Provide training and support to production staff on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.
To be considered for this great role in our team, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Certification in Quality Assurance or food safety (e.g., SQF, PCQI) is advantageous.
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance or quality control roles within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in meat processing.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) related to meat processing is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with quality management software systems is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse data to drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate quality-related information effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
