JUMBO Consulting Group is seeking a Procurement Manager to join our growing team in Melbourne, Australia and manage procurement of major DEVEX and CAPEX contracts for offshore wind projects.
You will join our business to support leading developers with supply chain development, category management, the planning, implementation, and execution of procurement strategies, through to contract signature of key contracts for offshore wind developments in Australia.
If you are from outside Melbourne or from abroad, JUMBO will provide relocation assistance to ensure a smooth transition.
Role & Responsibility
Your role will entail the development and implementation of supply chain and procurement strategy, entering into contracts with the right suppliers on pricing and terms, and supporting the realisation of the project in accordance with defined success criteria, the Project Procurement Strategy and Contract Management Strategy.
- The planning, implementation and execution of procurement and/or tender strategies;
- Draft and negotiate contracts including service, consultancy, supply and installation contracts.
- Support and advise JUMBO's clients on ad-hoc issues
- On a day-to-day basis through the procurement process; tendering, negotiations, and contract execution; you will:
- Lead and coordinate commercial, technical, financial and legal expertise from both our clients and within JUMBO, while in turn ensuring compliance with our clients governance and approval procedures;
- Look to provide maximum value to our clients in terms of quality, price and schedule while minimizing risks;
- Lead and perform the complete procurement process including issuing of requests for information, requests for proposals and tenders, evaluating proposals, recommending the award of and finalising contracts;
- Ensure that the procurement process is executed according to client policies and procedures, and documented in order to allow transparency and traceability throughout;
- Identify all value items and their relationship within the scope of the procurement and set the tender strategy according to a well-defined awarding criteria;
- Coordinate the flow of information internally and externally keeping all stakeholders informed on progress;
- Finalize the commercial and contractual deal as a basis for the contractual finalization through standard general conditions and/or managing exceptions to those together with legal and the main stakeholders;
- Achieve maximum value while minimizing delivery, quality and performance risks. Find compromises and solutions to drive negotiations to a close under time pressure;
- Actively participate in vendor relationship management, including: general communications and regular meetings, maintaining and improving vendor and market knowledge.
Further to your work on major offshore wind developments, you will also have the opportunity to be involved in:
Business Development:
- Marketing, e.g. Contributing to editorials, industry news and events.
- Direct and indirect Sales; customer and stakeholder engagement
- Tools and Procedure; support to the overall group through contributing to the development of tools and procedures including the Supply Chain Development and Procurement Management Practice Groups.
Training & Development:
- Contribute or host informal and formal training sessions with the overall group.
- The opportunity to work with other renewable energy technologies, which can include power-to-X, energy storage, green hydrogen, ammonia and other exciting technologies.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced professional that is aligned to our vision and excited by the opportunities and challenges of working in a rapidly expanding international business. Ideally you will have:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field of study.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a matrix organization.
- Experience within the renewable energy industry and/or major infrastructure and energy projects.
- Experience with leading and managing procurement and tender processes.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
- Structured and methodical way of working.
- Ability to project manage processes and lead negotiations.
Team & Colleagues:
- Work closely and in collaboration with JUMBO's growing Australian team and the client(s) project team(s)
- You will also work closely with the wider JUMBO organisation that currently consists of ~65 persons across Denmark, UK, Germany, Poland, Norway, Australia, Korea and Taiwan.
