About the Role
The Procurement Officer partners with the procurement team and key stakeholders to plan, develop, source, and manage procurement arrangements to deliver value for money, effectively meet business outcomes and is in line with best practice procurement within government and private sectors.
Key accountabilities include:
- Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet business needs and participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes.
- Prepare, review of tender, contractual, procurement strategy and purchasing documents related to procurement activity.
- Responsible for managing the procurement mailbox, directing requests as well as enquiries and supporting the procurement team with procurement related activities.
- Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information.
- Following up with external suppliers for payments and reporting the internal expenses for all the business units in a timely manner.
- Be the first point of contact in providing advice, information, and guidance on procurement related matters to staff and support good practice in procurement.
- Reporting on any areas of improvement and contribute towards continuous improvement for the procurement practice.
- Previous NSW Government experience preferred
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Procurement) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in a procurement related role with experience in procurement administration, reporting and general procurement practices.
- Ability to communicate and influence where required with all levels of stakeholders internally and externally.
- Experience using Microsoft suite, specifically with word and excel for reporting functionality.
- Quick learner and self-motivated to be able to drive results for the team in a timely manner.
