About the Role
We're seeking an experienced and innovative Producer to develop a unique digital audio/podcast sound and style for The Money. This is a great opportunity to step up and produce complex, well-researched programs and podcasts using skills in recording editing and round design that engage and inform an audience.
The role will also see you:
- Record interviews, edit and post-produce of complex programs with a diverse range of voices and sound with minimal supervision.
- Keep up to date with remote recording and audio production technology.
- Provide editorial guidance and supervision to more junior staff and assist them as required with training.
- Publish stories for website and apps and work with the online team to engage the audience with compelling digital content.
- Foster a constructive climate of feedback and discussion within the Factual Unit to enhance productivity within the team.
- Draft replies to complaints as required.
You have demonstrable experience in radio and podcast production, journalism skills, reliable editorial judgement and excellent news sense with the capacity for highly creative leadership. You have good audio editing and production skills and are highly skilled in audio recording, sourcing, editing and scripting content to high production standards.
You will also have:
- Proven ability to produce sophisticated and comprehensive briefs on complex topics for longer format interviews, with experience and ability to panel operate for pre-recorded interviews.
- Ability to design and produce an engaging and entertaining radio program that engages the target audience.
- Qualifications in Business or Economics would be beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines independently.
- Ability to think creatively to develop the sound and style of a broadcast program to compete in the evolving audio market.
- Advanced capacity to use digital platforms to engage and expand audiences.
