About the role

The role of the Creative Communities team is to lead the delivery of creative programs, events activations, place making projects and cultural initiatives that promote the creativity, diversity and vibrancy of the community and position the Inner West as a creative and cultural leader. 

The Producer - Civic and Community will produce, program, co-ordinate and deliver a range of creative programs and other activations in response to Council’s civic and community-focused engagements including festivals such as Seniors Week and Youth Week, Volunteer Week Awards, as well as other events in response to unscheduled requirements and corporate needs. 

This role will work closely with internal Council teams for program content and to deliver on requirements and actively engage in the celebrations of place, culture and diversity. Additionally, you will develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to ensure their participation in creative programs, events activations, place making projects and cultural initiatives.

Remuneration

$89,403.60 - $101,496.20 + Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

  1. Tertiary qualifications in event management, arts administration, business, tourism studies or an equivalent field or relevant industry/professional experience
  2. Experience in the development and delivery of events and activations, cultural and community-based programs and stakeholders to facilitate social inclusion and cultural development including the successful planning, coordination, programming, delivery and evaluation of a   range of events and activations.
  3. Demonstrated experience working with other teams and community groups to deliver up events and activations and deliver on the vision of the project. 
  4. Understanding of the requirements of working in a diverse environment.
  5.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver quickly on event outcomes.
