Your Role:
As a Product Developer, you will play a pivotal role in managing all aspects of the production process, from sourcing materials to coordinating with manufacturers to overseeing quality control. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding our clients through every stage of their fashion journey, from start-up brands launching their first collection to established labels expanding their product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire production process, from sourcing materials to coordinating with manufacturers.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their creative visions and translate them into CADS, tech packs, and actionable production plans.
- Ensure that all garments produced meet the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Oversee the development of technical specifications and documentation for each product.
- Utilise textile knowledge to make yarn and fabrication suggestions/guidance.
- Drive approval timelines for lab dips, strike offs, trim, and bulk fabric confirmation.
- Support creative teams throughout the production process to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of garments.
- Manage fit sessions and provide feedback to ensure garments fit according to specifications.
- Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to address any production issues or concerns.
- Maintain accurate production trackers and critical path timelines for each brand.
- Conduct regular quality control checks at all stages of production to ensure product integrity.
- Troubleshoot any quality issues with suppliers and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Set up and maintain style configurations and assist with negotiating lead times and pricing.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams for forecasting and capacity planning.
- Maintain clear and effective communication channels both internally and externally.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 2 years experience required in a similar role
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop – ability to cad products at pace
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- A technical understanding of product development and execution, fabrics/materials/finishes, and print application
- Tertiary qualification is preferred
- Proactive mindset and love being the first to solve a problem or improve a process
