About the role
Main tasks: The primary responsibility of this role is to identify and introduce new technologies and products to gain market share in the paint and coatings sector.
Other tasks:
- Research market opportunities and present recommendations back to the board
- Collaborate closely with internal marketing, sales, procurement and operations teams
- Conduct thorough quality control testing on products throughout the production stages
- Establish trial projects to produce new products or improve existing product lines
- Contribute to building a product roadmap for strategic Product Development
- Test and plan the development of new products, ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Prepare reports summarising findings and results
- Co-ordinate with key suppliers as required
- Manage new trials, following required steps and process documentation
- Review and improve the effectiveness of the management system implementation
- Monitor internal and external risks, stakeholders' needs and expectations, and take necessary actions.

What you must have to apply for this role:
- Proven experience in developing & commercialising new products
- Completed at least undergraduate education in science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar
- Significant industrial chemistry or surface coating experience
- A valid Australian driver's licence
You will be highly regarded if you also have:
- Experience working on a global scale or collaborating with international teams
- Familiarity with regulatory standards applicable to the industry
- Knowledge of quality, health, safety, & environment (QHSE) management systems.
