About the role
Main tasks: The primary responsibility of this role is to identify and introduce new technologies and products to gain market share in the paint and coatings sector.

Other tasks:

  • Research market opportunities and present recommendations back to the board
  • Collaborate closely with internal marketing, sales, procurement and operations teams
  • Conduct thorough quality control testing on products throughout the production stages
  • Establish trial projects to produce new products or improve existing product lines
  • Contribute to building a product roadmap for strategic Product Development
  • Test and plan the development of new products, ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Prepare reports summarising findings and results
  • Co-ordinate with key suppliers as required
  • Manage new trials, following required steps and process documentation
  • Review and improve the effectiveness of the management system implementation
  • Monitor internal and external risks, stakeholders' needs and expectations, and take necessary actions.

What you must have to apply for this role:

  • Proven experience in developing & commercialising new products
  • Completed at least undergraduate education in science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar
  • Significant industrial chemistry or surface coating experience
  • A valid Australian driver's licence

You will be highly regarded if you also have:

  • Experience working on a global scale or collaborating with international teams
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards applicable to the industry
  • Knowledge of quality, health, safety, & environment (QHSE) management systems.
