As the Foundry After CastProduction Controller at VEEM, you will run the post-casting production processes, overseeing the fettling, knock out, and sand processing divisions within our state-of-the-art foundry facility. Your role encompasses a blend of technical expertise and managerial responsibilities, ensuring the seamless execution of operations and the maintenance of our high standards of quality and efficiency.
The role:
- Use your mechanical skills to improve fettling and knock-out processes, ensuring high-quality production.
- Maintain equipment to ensure smooth operations, quickly resolving any mechanical issues.
- Lead a team of skilled workers, providing guidance and training to boost productivity.
- Manage inventory and procure necessary materials, using your technical expertise to select the best options.
- Collaborate with other foundry departments to streamline production and ensure seamless workflow.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized tasks like sandblasting, heat treatment, and non-destructive testing, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Ensure safety and housekeeping protocols are followed, promoting a culture of compliance and accountability.
- Participate in regular production meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
The Person:
- Experienced Mechanical Fitter with a proven track record in a foundry or similar manufacturing setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail, focusing on efficiency and quality.
- A commitment to safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field are preferred.
