The position: 

As the Production Controller - Welding, you will play a pivotal role in managing our welding operations to ensure they meet production schedules and quality standards. You will lead a team of skilled technicians, oversee equipment maintenance, and implement process improvements to optimize productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of welding technicians to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Control welding operations from both a quality and cost perspective.
  • Purchasing of consumables, controlling stock levels and usage
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance according to the preventive maintenance program and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain and generate PQR, WPS and Welder qualification records
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all employees adhere to established safety standards and guidelines
  • Maintain a safe, happy and reliable work environment
  • Identify and implement daily improvement opportunities to enhance production processes.

Key Attributes:

  • Graduate qualification in Welder/Fabricator, Boilermaker, metallurgy or Engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing supervision or similar management role
  • Good understanding of quality management systems and international standards
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Honesty and integrity, ambitious and motivated
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
