THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a full-time Production Estimator to join our Display team within the Product and Innovation department at our St Kilda Road Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team who know how to have a laugh and help each other out when the going gets tough.
The primary purpose of this role is to produce accurate construction orders for display homes nationally that are clearly documented for use by the construction team, suppliers and contractors within time frames.
There are three key components to this role:
- Providing accurate ordering of all Display homes
- Maintaining the ordered file throughout the construction process up to maintenance including ordering of extra schedule requirements.
- Providing technical support to internal stakeholders
Other key accountabilities include:
- Providing accurate take offs
- Producing and modifying an accurate bill of quantities (BOQs) for Displays under construction
- Obtaining relevant quotes and pricing
- Allocating the required suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintaining organised files and appropriate documentation of completed work
- Completing set tasks and achieving job targets within designated time frames
- Providing support to site supervisors
WHO YOU ARE
Previous estimating experience within the building and construction industry would be highly advantageous, as would a tertiary/TAFE qualification in estimating, however, the right attitude and willingness to learn is more important in order to be successful in this role.
Knowledge and understanding of the Residential Building Code and Australian Standards is required, along with strong analytical skills and the capability to interpret technical drawings.
You will be an exceptional communicator and will be able to work in a team environment in order to achieve set targets and KPIs.
High attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills will ensure that you are successful in this role.
