Job description

Opportunities exist to join the fantastic team at Calgraphics in a permanent position. We offer a the chance to work at a highly respected business, with modern equipment, other amazing staff and in a supportive environment.

We can offer roles on either a full time, or long hours part time.

Reporting to the Production Manager you will apply your knowledge, skills and talents in a dynamic environment where your contribution and commitment will be valued. You will both work as part of the production team and at times independently, requiring the ability to follow instructions and problem solve. 

In this role you will be part of a friendly team working with up to date equipment on a range of products produced on digital presses. The continually changing workflow means you will have good opportunity to use your skills and experience as well as continuing to learn new practices.

Our site has parking but is not exceptionally well serviced by public transport so we suggest you will require your own vehicle to commute to work.

While we are detailing an ideal candidate will have the below skills and experience, if you can offer experience in similar roles with production equipment we will be pleased to consider your application.

To be the ideal candidate requires the following experience, skills and abilities;

  • A number of years experience in similar roles.
  • Thorough knowledge of general sign making including self-adhesive vinyl materials and their applications.
  • Experience in cutting and routing of varied substrates using Zund or like Flatbed equipment.
  • Experience with  cutting, weeding, assembly, lay up, application and lamination
  • Use of hot and cold roll laminators
  • Basic sheet metal fabrication and finishing
  • Preparation of substrates
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality control
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal for interpretation of instructions and liaison with other team members
  • Safe work practices and housekeeping of your work environment.

The following capabilities will be well regarded but are not essential;

  • Forklift Licence
  • A trade qualification (Signwriting / Computer Ops)
