ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to join and Lead our Hurley Head Office Team.

The key objective of the Production Manger role is to manage the product creation process from design hand-off through to final product delivery; with an emphasis on quality product development, timely completion and hitting target margins.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage the product creation process from design hand-off to final product
• DIFOT, with an emphasis on quality product development, timely completion and hitting target margins
• Be the category expert – be knowledgeable of category status and manage all reporting for assigned categories
• Managing & Negotiating costings to maintain optimal margin with the goal to continually strengthen result
• Developing, managing, and maintaining critical paths with suppliers and in house team to facilitate timelines for design, development, SMS sampling, sales, pre-production approvals and bulk shipments
• Identifying and resolving any quality and/or delivery issues that may come up throughout production process quickly and efficiently.
• Working closely with Design team and Product Developers to manage production processes such as factory liaising, bulk fabric & trim approvals, pre-production fit & make comments, care label & barcode creation, packaging etc.
• Work with the factory to develop new techniques in line with the designer’s vision
• Drive innovation in the apparel construction and fabric
• Be across brand awareness, knowledge of market and peer groups in regard to make, quality, price, style

Location

We are currently searching for our new office/creative space in the Manly area on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, however, until we find the ideal location we will be sharing space with the groups newly created Converse/Group office in Roseberry. There is a blend of flexible working arrangements (teamliness policy) available.

The successful candidate will possess the following competencies:

• Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovates to achieve great
• 15 years’ experience in a Production Manager role working with Apparel
• Experience working with a premium level product
• Strong negotiation skills
• Exceptional understanding of offshore production, global sourcing & logistics
• Excellent understanding of Critical path and timelines, with excellent time Management skills
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and agile decision-making skills
• A collaborative and team orientated approach
• Quality-driven: Committed to delivering the best product or
• Excellent communication skills to ensure strong supplier relationships
• Understanding of garment specifications and construction techniques
• Strong technical background with an ability to problem solve
• Good attention to detail and a creative eye
• Must have 5 years of prior experience working with overseas suppliers
• Good communication skills
• Ability to complete presentations to small and large groups
• Advanced Adobe cc skills
• Advanced Microsoft office skills
• Must be deadline driven and detail
• Must be able to multi task and work in fast paced
• Must be proactive with a solution/result oriented
• Must have excellent communication and follow through
• Must be PC & MAC computer literate
