About the role

We are seeking a Production Operator to join our growing team to support the assembly, inspection, testing and packing of our innovative products and solutions prior to being dispatched to our global customers. Adhering to our ISO 9001 Quality Management System, this role will see you working with cutting edge products that help our customers better manage their fleets.

Meet your new team

Our Production team consists of multiple operators, team leads and engineers, all working collaboratively to ensure our customers receive their products that are ready to be installed or operated. The work done by this team is crucial for ensuring the high-quality products either manufactured or developed by Directed, are consistently tested, and exceed industry standards.

How you will make an impact

As our Production Operator you share the work within your team and be responsible for:

  • Achieving daily production targets and the overall effective running of the production line or workstations. 
  • Maintaining a safe, organised, and clean work environment always. 
  • Helping the Quality team perform quality control checks by product inspection. 
  • Following our (SOP’s) Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions. 
  • Completing all reporting (checklists, registers etc) for production operations, maintenance programs and continuous improvement activities. 
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve the production processes.  

The successful applicant

Our ideal candidate for this Production Operator role will have the following experience:

  • Working a team environment in a repetitive production role ideally within an electronics manufacturing company.
  • Having followed or the ability to understand detailed SOP’s.
  • Sound computer skills especially using MS Excel and Teams.
  • Ability to work well with others within a team environment, escalating issues and ideas to team leads and manager.
  • Strong communication skills, being punctual and reliable.
  • Great attention to detail with analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Willingness to learn new things and adapt to different equipment and new processes. 
  • Must have own transport and be able to work onsite at our state-of-the-art Innovation Centre based at Melbourne Airport Business Park.
