Job Description

The Production Operator is required to undertake picking, packaging, and building of CBRND (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence) training and operational packaging including building of sub-systems for equipment to be based about various sites in Australia. The position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Specific Functions

  • Work well autonomously and within a team to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency targets set by the Production Supervisor.
  • Have sound problem solving skills with ability of planning and adjusting with frequent customer requirement changes.
  • Ensure all build records are kept up to date with accurate information at all times.
  • Loading and unloading of containers at our local site.
  • Physically fit as manually handling of 20kg boxes is required daily.
  • Quality and inspections of equipment to ensure accurate build records and for stocktaking.
  • Perform inspections on CBRND returned equipment from customer sites including, checking for damages, preparing for laundry and minor repair/remediation as required.
  • Perform basic technical task including calibrations, assessments & minor repairs as required.
  • Comply/follow CBRND systems and associated equipment SOPs.
  • Maintain the service quality and performance standards to meet the requirements of the CBRND Support Contract.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work in all Leidos facilities and Defence sites by following and enforcing site environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures, complying with applicable Work Health Safety (WHS) Act standards.
  • Interstate travel may be required.

The successful applicant will need to be an Australian Citizen, and able to obtain a Baseline AGSVA security clearance.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Completed High School Certificate (Year 12)
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Valid Drivers Licence and Forklift Licence or willingness to gain Forklift Licence
  • Ability to gain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearnce to a minimum of Baseline.

Highly Regarded

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand the business, identify issues and develop relationships to achieve the company’s objectives.  Ideally, you will also have:

  • Warehouse experience, including inwards and outwards freight.
  • Experience in maintaining inventory.
  • Production operator experience in manufacturing environments, using SOP’s, process flow diagrams and recording build process results for quality documentation.
