About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA, reporting to the Production Planning Team Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for supporting the planning effort for the construction phase of the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) utilising facility and resource capacity requirements. Working closely with multiple departments, you will participate in block readiness reviews, attend strategy meetings and work closely with the production team.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing production plans, including work orders and job cards, in a timely manner in accordance with production planning processes.
Utilise the enterprise resource planning and material resource planning software to develop and manage the schedule using rolling wave principles.
Liaise with internal stakeholders of the organisation to effectively execute the production schedule.
Development of production estimates using agreed business norms.
Identify Bill of Materials (BoM) required to complete work scope defined within the work orders.
Creation of parts lists to support warehouse issuing material in line with the production schedule.
Understanding of facility utilisation to prioritise and sequence the scope of work to maximise resource efficiency.
Monitor progress, analyse and report on the production schedule.
About YOU
Working experience in a production, scheduling/ production planning type role, preferably in the heavy engineering industries or equivalent tertiary qualifications or production trade experience.
Working experience in the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to prioritise and balance multiple requirements and deadlines.
Competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of engineering, supply chain and operations requirements and processes.
Knowledge of effective use of planning and scheduling processes, systems and tools.
Must be eligible to apply for Australian Defence Security Clearance.
