Resumption of operations has recently commenced, and you have an opportunity to help lead the processing team.
The Role
The Production Superintendent is responsible for the direction of operational resources and activities to meet current and anticipated demand in accordance with FML standards whilst maintaining strict compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.
The Production Superintendent is required to work closely with the maintenance team identifying and communicating emergent maintenance work and ensuring that work receives appropriate priority so that any impact on production is minimised.
This role is a permanent, full-time opportunity on an 8:6 roster. The role can be FIFO from Perth or DIDO from the Kalgoorlie/Coolgardie region.
Specific Qualifications of the Role
- Experience working on processing plants with previous experience in gold processing operations.
- Process Plant Operations and Management qualifications desirable.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team of supervisors and operators.
- Sufficient computer skills including Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel and software such as Pronto & PeopleTray.
- Knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to fixed plant.
- Incident investigation (ICAM or similar).
- Current WA manual driver’s licence.
- Ability to teach others.
Accountabilities
- Provide leadership to achieve a safe working environment, developing appropriate procedures and adequate training and supervision to enable work to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met for safety and environmental incidents within incident management deadlines.
- Consult and direct operations teams to ensure process plant operates efficiently and effectively to meet production targets.
- Maintain collection and reporting of plant data through quality systems and ensure data entry is completed as per requirements.
- Assure operations team is adequately resourced to fulfil required activities (arranging contractor coverage within budgeted complement).
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained throughout the plant, including identification of areas generating spillage or leaks so these are prioritized by maintenance for actioning.
- Ensure necessary training requirements (in particular compliance related training) are met for all operations team members, escalate any gaps and include possible solutions.
- Ensure adherence to Gold Room security protocol, and security systems are functional and maintained.
- Ensure TSF is operated in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Assist Process Manager with compilation of monthly processing forecast schedule to best align with budget and communicate forecast targets with operations and maintenance teams.
- Assist and support Process Manager with development of budgets.
- Other tasks as required from time to time.
- Work closely with the maintenance and technical teams to ensure the best outcomes for the business.
