About the role:
The QSL Operations division provides reliable storage, shipping, and logistics management services to the Queensland sugar industry at six bulk sugar sites across Queensland.
We’re looking to hire two suitably skilled Operator/ Maintainers to join our team in Lucinda. One of the positions is a full-time permanent vacancy and the other position will be on a 6-month fixed term contract.
The role of Operator/Maintainer at QSL involves general building and equipment maintenance, general labouring, stores management, plant operations (fixed & mobile), as well as cleaning. You will bring with you the capability and desire to work alongside both mechanical and electrical tradespersons to achieve the overall running of the plant. Having experience in materials handling plant with heavy equipment such as front-end loaders and excavators will be viewed favourably.
Another key responsibility is the receiving of raw product into the facilities using a computer based, automated materials handling system and control panel. Your previous experience using similar systems and programs will be viewed favourably.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the role of Operator/Maintainer also involves the loading of shipping vessels.
To fulfil the role of Operator / Maintainer your hours of work will require you to be available to work shift work. Please note, this includes the requirement that you are available to work on public holidays and on weekends.
