Our client designs and manufactures a wide variety of original equipment and aftermarket heat exchange products for both mobile and stationary applications. They import and distribute automotive aftermarket parts for Australia and New Zealand.
DESCRIPTION:
Develop and maintain a competent and cohesive production work force comprised of specialist teams working in well-defined departments. The work force shall be capable of achieving company objectives of quality of workmanship and rate of throughput.
DUTIES: Review design requests.
Prove new technique involving process or product design change.
Coordinate and approve product quality.
Maintain, file and save all support documentation.
Exercise responsibility for members of team.
Ensure the smooth and timely processing of all work.
Coordinate equipment and labor.
Appropriately allocate human resources, reporting excess and deficiencies to the Operations Manager.
Exercise responsibility for quality of work throughout your Team.
Achieve minimum wastage of materials and machine time.
Plant Maintenance.
Make recommendations to Manager on corrective actions and improvements required to your department.
Ensure all staff are equipped and wearing correct safety equipment and working in a safe manner.
Complete all review and training records in the HR system in a timely manner.
Assist with the root cause analysis of non-conforming product.
Attend meetings as required.
Responsible for ensuring safe work practices are adhered to.
Conduct monthly stock-takes and report on variances.
Process sales orders and work orders as required.
Inform HO of material or equipment requirements.
Open and close site as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive experience in manufacturing & sheet metal fabrication industry.
Extensive knowledge and experience in associated metal industry activity appropriate to the operations and equipment used in manufacture.
Well-developed understanding of the duties of the leading hands.
Well-proven ability to perform the technical skills required achieving a high level of productivity and quality.
Ability to set and maintain high standards for the team.
Personal ability to consistently meet these standards.
Proven ability to deliver on the job training and instruction.
Proven people management skills.
Ability to write reports and maintain support documentation and record keeping.
