Production Supervisor – Night Shift

An opportunity currently exists for a Production Supervisor (Night Shift) as 2IC, based at our Kingsgrove site on a full-time permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to supervise, coordinate production operations and to work in the lead role of the shift. The aim is to achieve and continuously improve the manufacturing performance of the plant by reducing waste and scrap, while improving and maintaining quality to maximise overall site productivity.

Key accountabilities include:

• Ensure the production plan is communicated and maintained for the entire shift. 
• Manage production line operations to ensure smooth, efficient running and that production schedules are met during the shift.
• Establish guidelines for delivery time commitments.
• Coordinate preparation of production schedules and material orders.
• Monitor and adjust schedules to respond to market/production requirements and optimize costs.
• Maintain hygiene / GMP to acceptable level for area of responsibility.
• Follow site/company guidelines on Quality System and HACCP procedures and policies.
• React as appropriate to WH&S, quality and HACCP issues relating to product and/or personnel.
• Analyse and understand manufacturing measure output data and develop concepts in conjunction with the team to improve site performance.
• Ensure reports are submitted on time.
• Investigate and report on all production-based Quality issues impacting the site.
• Responsible for developing manufacturing skills and capability within their shift and managing succession plans.
• Motivating and coaching the team to achieve targets set in manufacturing.

The successful applicant will possess:

• Relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment highly desirable.
• 3-5 years Leadership and Team Management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with preventative maintenance systems.
• SAP or similar ERP experience.
• Performance management and development experience.
• Strong communication (Verbal and Written) and prioritization skills.
• Sound IT skills.
• Willing to work Night Shift (10.30pm – 6.30am) and on some occasion weekends.
