The Role: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR -
Due to ongoing growth and planned developments, these exciting opportunities have been created for proven Production Shift Supervisors at several of our sites. Our meat, and poultry products are processed, manufactured and distributed to diverse customers in retail, QSR and food service businesses within Australia and overseas markets.
This role will suit a switched-on individual who is hands-on and proud of their work and can make decisions and lead. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you are an experienced and successful process improver and problem solver.
Reporting to the Factory Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Lead a team to achieve production targets with minimum wastage and with high-quality products
- Planning with production leadership for extra staffing requirements to meet production plans.
- Maintain Food Safety, GMP and HACCP standards to ensure hygiene and the highest of quality.
- Manage HSE standards, and ensure equipment is set up, cleaned and safely operated with safety as a priority.
- Lead and mentor your team to ensure continuous improvement.
- Report to and work with the Site Manager and the production teams.
- Ensuring production team members are adhering to safe work practices, and ensuring all equipment and machinery is in safe working condition through regular inspection and reporting of issues.
- All employees have completed their induction training.
- Supporting production team members in consistently adhering to good manufacturing practices and food Safety.
- Consistently achieving production outputs to meet production schedules.
- Regularly monitoring and evaluating production processes to identify and implement productivity improvements.
- Lead the development and training of new and existing team members, ensuring any skills gaps are identified and managed.
- Working as part of a production team to achieve production efficiency targets
- Ensuring all new team members are trained on the relevant machines and company processes.
Candidates will ideally possess the following experience and attributes:
- 5 years leadership in Production
- Experience in FMCG manufacturing, ideally food/meat/poultry production
- Knowledge and understanding of food safety, HACCP, GMP
- Clear communication skills and ability to liaise at all levels
- Computer skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Although not essential, education or training in Food Science/Technology is ideal
- A desire to improve, lead and develop further
- Great communication skills both written and oral.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft suite particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, demonstrating effective time management.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Have their own reliable transport.
- Strong understanding of, and a focus on Safety & Quality
- Knowledge of ERP systems
