About the Role
The Team Leader will collaborate with the Production Managers and Operations Managers to lead Production Supervisors and Production Workers, ensuring quality outcomes for Barkuma commercial customers and NDIS clients. The role has a strong focus on quality, productivity, safety and safeguarding to provide meaningful work opportunities to people living with disability.
Key responsibilities:
- Model appropriate conduct and use respectful language consistent with Barkuma's and the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Foster a culture of learning, unity, and high-quality services
- Provide non-restrictive and person-centred assistance to employees requiring support for their fullest participation in work programs
- Work closely with individuals, families, and advocates to support choice, control, and drive individual work plans.
- Supervise and encourage high productivity and work quality
- Participate in physical work for financial outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and case management systems
- Conduct individual workers' wage assessments, training plans, appraisals, employment assistance plans, and reviews
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare assessments and reports for commercial customers, NDIS funding agencies, or other required entities.
- Work effectively in a team environment to accomplish business and strategic objectives.
About you
Successful candidates may have the following skills and experience:
- Experience in leadership, management and previous work in a production or manufacturing setting
- Experience in supporting adults with intellectual disability
- Proficiency in WHS systems and processes
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance systems
- Familiarity with employment services and production processes
- Solid understanding of HACCP & GMP processes and requirements
- Familiarity with manual handling principles
- Independent, adaptable and proactive approach
- Sensitivity to the needs of employees from diverse backgrounds
- Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
- Sound comprehension of the National Standards for Disability Services
Candidates will have or are willing to obtain the following:
- Current South Australian Driver’s Licence (restricted provisional licence and above)
- Current NDIS Worker clearance
- Current DHS Working with Children Check
- Child Safe Environment Training “Through their Eyes”
- Appropriate work rights for Australia
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 including a booster dose or willing to obtain
This role will be based at our Holden Hill factory where onsite parking is available.
