The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this temporary full-time position with Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) commencing in March 2024 until 20 December 2024.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the Learning K - 12 team, and with familiarity and commitment to Lighting the Way Vision & Strategic Direction of CEDoW, the Professional Officer will support, challenge and extend the practice and pedagogy of teachers and leaders in Diocesan schools to ensure compliance requirements are met in order to bring about improvement in student learning and achievement.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The successful applicant will possess and demonstrate:
  • A sound understanding of and a willingness to support the mission and purpose of a Catholic school
  • Capacity to build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data
  • A comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs
  • Leadership experience across a range of stages and Learning Technologies, Technology & Applied Studies (TAS) and STEM
  • Capacity to analyse system and school data to identify areas of high performance and emerging issues in learning, teaching and curriculum
  • Commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the wider school community
The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Competent Information and Communication Technology skills (MS Office and Google Suite).
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Successful leadership experience at a whole school level, across a curriculum &/or pedagogical context.
  • Bachelor Degree in Education (or suitably related discipline).
  • Accredited to Level C in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
