The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Program Coordinator to join the Placement Services unit on a full-time term basis.
The role is responsible for:
- Matching and assessingreferrals for placement programs, including the Treatment Foster Care Oregon – Adolescents (TFCO-A), Next Steps, and Guardianship Family Day Care (GFDC) to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people in Out of Home Care.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing policies associated to work practices and providing regular reporting updates through the Out of Home Care Reform Steering Group (OOHCRSG) and associated committees.
- Providing placement consultation to DCP staff and external agencies to ensure there is a shared understanding of each Placement program and referral process.
- Acting as the central contact and communication point with case workers regarding each Placement program in terms of placement matching, referrals and placement transitions.
About You
We are looking for a confident individual with the ability to influence, negotiate and effectively mediate conflicts and identify innovative solutions in order to achieve desired program outcomes.
To be successful in the role you will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities both verbally and in writing, and a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of social work/child protective practice legislative frameworks.
You will have experience providing sound and practical advice on social work/child protection matters, as well as supporting and guiding team members to improve team performance.
