This role will be a Hybrid role, while we work remote a majority of the time as a member of ELT you will be expected to work in either the Sydney and Melbourne offices quite frequently ad attend client meetings.

The Role:
The Program Director is responsible for the delivery of all customer projects and services including Managed Hosting Services. They need to take ownership and lead a large team to deliver exceptional and successful projects and services and to build strong ongoing relationships with Axe Group clients.
The Program Director is a key role at Axe, on the Executive Leadership team and reports to the CEO.
They are responsible for working closely with the Executive Leadership Team in order to deliver the best client outcomes possible, in a commercially astute manner with a focus on achieving the strategic goals of Axe Group.

Responsibilities:
Axe's business model is built around developing and selling insurance software products. 
The Program Director will bring considerable commercial rigour to the project management function and work with the Product team, IT Services team and Sales team to ensure that client projects and services are delivered strategically, financially and operationally in line with Axe strategy and growth goals.
The key responsibilities are:

  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Team to identify new opportunities from projects and services to grow the business.
  • For opportunities, provide cost and timeline estimates for project implementation and managed services. This includes looking for ways to competitively price and structure deals to help win strategic projects.
  • With the CFO’s assistance manage the project legal obligations and commercial risks. This includes reviewing all contracts so that Axe is protected from project and operational risks.
  • Once the deal is closed take over ownership from the Sales Team including verifying all handover tasks are completed so the delivery team can take full responsibility.
  • Lead, develop and put in place the processes, practices and tools to mature Axe Group Project Management capabilities and ensure our project delivery quality is maintained.
  • Ensure project teams have the training, skills, documentation and support to efficiently implement each release.
  • Manage the teams, set clear expectations and job goals and conduct  performance reviews.
  • Track on a weekly basis progress including commercials on all projects and services and provide visibility to the ELT on the progress
  • Ensure full and efficient utilisation of the project team including any staff temporarily assigned to the project team 
  • Maintain a training program for new staff and existing staff
  • Provide monthly reports to the CEO on the overall client project and managed services progress
