AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

This role can be based in our Adelaide CBD or Mawson Lakes offices. Consideration will also be given to candidates located in Canberra or Newcastle.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in a similar customer liaison role within the Defence industry demonstrating an understanding of accounting principles, concepts, practices and standards.
  • Ability to provide accurate analysis and advice to management and produce timely and accurate written reports as required.

Special Requirements:

As a NV1 security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens to be eligible and maintain this level of security clearance.

Your responsibilities will include:

You'll perform multiple financial activities within various finance job functions (FP&A, Overhead, Program Finance, Accounting, Controller, etc.) and perform financial analysis, establish performance management budgeting, and forecasting activities to include variance analysis, trend identification, workforce planning drivers, risk and opportunities assessment and development of mitigation plans.

Additionally, you'll integrate information from multiple financial systems, processes and functions in order to consolidate the data forensics into actionable business solution recommendations as well as consolidating financial results (Orders, Sales, EBIT, Cash, ROIC, Overhead, Discretionary Funding) and monthly, quarterly and year end reporting to internal and external customers to include government contractual cost and schedule earned value management reporting.

You'll utilise data analytics, visualisation and trend analysis to inform financial strategy and decision making and provide actionable recommendations to key stakeholders to make sound financial and operating decisions. Maintains applicable internal and external policy, procedure, and controls for compliance to support internal process and external regulatory requirements. Provides subject matter expertise support to proposal development, basis of estimate and negotiations, as required.
