Job Description
The Program Manager - Data will take charge of the Data stream projects within the Transformation Program. The Program Manager is accountable for managing the program on a daily basis, across both technology and business activities. The role is required to manage this group of projects through the complete lifecycle from inception, design, delivery and embedding/on-going improvement.
As a leader, this role is required to coach, support and develop the supporting project team leaders and/or managers on best practices, ensuring that the overall team’s work-plan is delivered, with a pipeline of skills to support future team capability requirements.
- Manage the day-to-day execution of the program in conjunction with their project managers and/or senior leads through the end-to-end lifecycle from inception, delivery and embedding/ongoing run
- Overseeing the creation of necessary business cases (cost and benefit profile)
- Coordinating the go-to-market activities with Procurement and the Technology commercial team.
- Providing a forward view of resource usage, including people, release windows, and business SMEs
- Effectively manage the high level program plan, critical path, and schedule including interdependencies with other Transformation programs
- Effectively manage risk for the project in conjunction with the Group Risk team and other stakeholders.
- Effectively manage actions, issues and dependencies (including cross-project)
- Manage the financial profile for the program including a forward view of anticipated costs
- Provide necessary information and access for independent assurance reviews.
- Prepare required materials for the Program Steering Committee
- Implementing the agreed-upon unified delivery methods and tools for the Transformation project.
Qualifications
7+ years Project Management experience and 3-5+ years Program Management experience including relevant certification such as Prince 2 or PMP.
Demonstrated experience in implementing high-profile, IT Transformation and ERP/large complex programs.
Possess extensive knowledge of project management methodologies and tracking tools - with a focus on pragmatic execution
Ability to take the lead and drive projects forward through being proactive in identifying areas for improvement and recommending innovative solutions.
Understanding of the retail environment, and ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
Understanding and/or experience leading data transformation programs and/or projects
Previous experience in agile/scrum is preferred but not mandatory.
