About the role: 

Multicultural Futures are currently seeking an experienced Mental HealthProgram Manager to manage, deliver and develop their programs under their Mental Health and Wellbeing division. As a member of a small Leadership Team (Program Manager Inclusion and CEO) this role is also required to maintain and strengthen operations of the organisation. Reporting to the CEO, the role will hold the following key focus areas: 

Position Specific Duties 

  • Provide strategic direction for Mental Health operational and service outcomes including expansion of services and alternative funding opportunities
  • Fulfil operational reporting requirements for our funding bodies, the Board and CEO
  • Represent MCF on operational committees/meetings including, but not limited to, external stakeholders and funding bodies 
  • Develop and maintain networks within your professional capacity
  • Ensure adherence to budget and that financial resources are put to best operational use 
  • Provide clear processes to ensure service agreement performance targets are met. 
  • Ensure adherence to all contractual obligations
  • Establish and ensure client feedback is sought and reportable as required
  • Act on complaints from clients and stakeholders by following the complaints policy, developing improvements if necessary and reporting outcomes. 
  • Complete client work as required, in line with team workloads. 

Human Resources 

  • Ensure appropriate allocation of staffing resources for contract delivery 
  • Supervise, support and coach direct reports including regular feedback, regular one-to-one catch ups, providing training and development, performing and documenting probationary and annual reviews and performance management. 
  • Identify opportunities for improvement with the Mental Health team and programs
  • Participate in team meetings, team building, planning and development discussions, evaluations, supervision sessions, training sessions, and review activities, leading these activities where required in the context of your role.

Organisational Duties

  • Actively engage and contribute to MCF’s vision, mission and values.
  • Ensure own compliance with internal policies and procedures including but not limited to the Code of Conduct
  • Ensure compliance with external policies, procedures and legislation including, but not limited to, the Mental Health Act 2014
  • Promote appropriate compliance to all staff
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation consistent with relevant policies and procedures 
  • Undertake training and professional development and share learning. 

Other responsibilities

  • Other duties as directed by the CEO.

What you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage operational activities - delivering desired program outcomes whilst maintaining excellent service quality. 
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, supervise, coach, and lead members of your team. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with people from a refugee or migrant background.
  • Understanding of barriers to change for people from a refugee or migrant background with Mental Health challenges.
  • Evidence of well-developed communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Satisfactory Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
  • Current Working With Children Check.
