Job Description:The Program Manager - Projects - Technology Optimisation will work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver automation and optimisation infrastructure projects across Oceania Ports and Terminals.The role will project manage activities across technology, vendors and the internal team for those based in our region or internationally. Critical to the role is scoping out the project schedule, interdependencies, budget tracking and monitoring, resource mapping, risk and issue management and reporting.We are seeking a dynamic and experienced project management professional who has delivered infrastructure projects involving automation. This multifaceted position requires a candidate with a strong background in construction or infrastructure, combined with exceptional analytical and project management skills. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimising our port operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance our business processes.Key Accountabilities
  • Understand the current and proposed business model for Sydney Rail as it relates to the proposed expansion
  • Document the processes associated with the business model and touch points with other functions
  • Conduct research, data analysis, and process mapping to identify any potential impacts
  • Monitor, evaluate and update the effectiveness of new processes and procedures to ensure they meet the desired outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process maps.
  • Facilitate the gathering of business requirements and documentation, gap analysis of these such that these can be used for scope and solution definition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new processes and procedures that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Proactively build strong relationships with colleagues, team members, specialist users and the business
  • Ensure coordination and alignment of key stakeholders across multiple phases and deliverables
  • Attend regular update meetings with key stakeholders to agree progress, resolve issues and manage compromises with other projects which may compete for resources and priority
  • Proactively escalate concerns where it appears a deadline may be compromised.
  • Assist in the design, development, and ownership of the system Integration Testing (AUT) , & User Acceptance Testing (UAT) project plans, ensuring that all milestones and internal and external dependencies are identified, logged and monitored.
  • Actively work with business users ensuring they have the knowledge and resources they require to assist in data migration, testing and knowledge transfer.
  • Assist in the identification and ongoing management of risks by participation in risk workshops.
  • Comply upwards reporting and adherence to reasonable timeframes on delivery.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation is distributed on time to stakeholders, allowing sufficient time for review and questions.
  • Ensure that signoffs on documentation are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the methodology.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst/Project Manager in a similar industry and focused on Infrastructure Technology projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organisation's core business process and operations ideally in the Port Operations or Logistics sector.
  • Automation and Robotics: Automated guided vehicles (AGVs), robotic arms for handling cargo, and automated cranes.
  • IoT and Sensors: IoT devices for real-time tracking of cargo, sensors for monitoring equipment and environmental conditions.
  • AI and Machine Learning: Predictive analytics for maintenance and operations, AI for optimizing logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Software Systems: Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Proven experience in hands on project management and delivery associated with Technology infrastructure implementations.
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Continual Service Improvement - Utilise data analytics to monitor the performance of automation systems. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.
  • Clear understanding of product management and market placement.
  • Demonstrated skills with project management software skills, including planning, organising, and managing resources.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
