In this role, you'll:
Join the Engineering & Maintenance Branch and be part of a team that manages a $1.5 billion annual maintenance program on behalf of Sydney Trains and NSW Trains – delivering a safe, reliable passenger fleet and metropolitan rail network, to meet growing customer demand and keep Sydney moving.
Our Major Works Projects team undertake a multi discipline delivery approach that leads a variety of high profile projects involving key rail infrastructure assets. Your role will be to ensure that you skilfully manage and drive complex programs, to deliver your key part in the Major Works Annual Works Program.
Reporting to the Associate Director Program Planning & Development and working in partnership with other Program Planning Managers, you will be responsible for the initiation and integration of this key portfolio that incorporates, Electrical, Track, Signalling, Civil and Operational Technology components, that form part of a key driver towards the next generation of rail assets, enabling innovation and class leading technology, that overarchingly form an essential aspect of the Sydney Trains Annual Works Program.
Supported by Program Planners, you will closely work with Asset Management stakeholders and other key design and Sydney Trains stakeholders on the development of the Major Works Annual Works Program, to refine and clarify the scope associated with future maintenance programs or projects, for transition to the Project Management (Delivery) unit. This will ensure delivery feasibility and constructability of project plans, and transition project plans over to delivery teams for execution.
This is an initial two-year fixed-term Transport Senior Service Manager TSSM level role offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you
With high levels of enthusiasm and initiative, you will work well in a collaborative team environment with the ability to self-manage to drive actions and develop innovations to enable delivery success in a fast-paced environment and towards financially sustainable future. You’ll be passionate about playing a pivotal role in ensuring rail programs are delivered successfully and seamlessly integrated into the Sydney Trains operational environment.
You will have multi discipline project management acumen, working across transport Infrastructure projects in a large and complex organisation, you have a background in the portfolio planning and management, delivery of complex rail or infrastructure related projects, multi stakeholder in a dynamic construction environment. You will be a proactive and effective communicator and have a proven ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
You’ll also need Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or Engineering (in a relevant discipline) or demonstrated equivalent experience in Program Management of a multi-disciplined nature.
Collaboration is key, you will have strong experience dealing with influential stakeholders and the ability to articulate complex concepts, ensuring the executive leadership team are well informed of your progress.
