The key duties of the position include
The Role
The Program Procurement and Inventory Officer will require the knowledge and experience necessary to perform materiel logistics inventory and asset management work within an integrated workforce of APS, Military and Contractors. It will require a well-developed understanding of and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making, Defence's mission and policy requirements. Within the Program Sustainment team, this position will undertake specialist research and analysis conduct assessments and perform procedural and clerical support work. The team will interpret and provide advice within the Materiel Logistics functional area based on legislation, policy and procedures to enable Special Operations modernisation.
You will work collaboratively as part of the broader Defence team and be expected to confidently and articulately represent the interests of Special Operations Command within the broader Defence environment. You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development as well as identifying opportunities for on-the-job training.
About our Team
Special Operations Command has an opportunity to join an integrated team of APS, Military and Contracting staff as a Procurement and Inventory Officer. This diverse workforce uses Defence's policies, procedures and resources to support the modernisation of equipment, information systems and estate employed by Special Operations Command. This role will contribute to the Command's modernisation program and ensure it delivers capability designed to contribute to joint effects. It ensures Special Operations capabilities are sustained and modernised in accordance with the One Defence Capability Life Cycle.

  • Be a clear and concise communicator with the ability to effectively engage and support executives, staff and external stakeholders at all levels, and represent the organisation at forums as required.
  • Have demonstrated public service professionalism and probity.
