We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Program Support Worker to provide support to the Outreach Team and Sydney City Salvos Team in creating a safe space for
Reporting to the Community Programs Facilitator, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Surry Hills and Waterloo, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.
- Support Outreach Facilitator and the broader team to engage with clients within the Trauma Informed Framework.
- Maintain a sound and current working knowledge of local support options for people needing assistance.
- Provide warm referral pathways within the TSA network and external agencies and work collaboratively and professionally with other agencies as appropriate and required.
- Oversee the hiring of the building at 140 Elizabeth St from initial enquiries to invoicing.
- Coordinate collection of donations and other ad hoc deliveries and pickups for the work of Sydney City Salvos. Operate vehicle in a safe and effective manner.
- Provide administrative support to the Sydney City Salvos programs as needed.
- Follow the Salvation Army's policies and procedures to address potential high-risk situations and other work hazards, including timely reporting within TSA guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, including practical caring tasks.
- NSW Employee Working with Children's Check.
- Current valid driver's licence (preferred)
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant area - Minimum Certificate III in Community Services or extensive experience within the industry.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
- Previous experience working in a community service setting (desirable).
- Understanding of Trauma informed Care Framework.
- Mental health first aid training (preferred).
- Food Handling Course (or willingness to obtain one).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
