As the Program Technical Lead, you'll report directly to the Associate Director, Engineering Australia, stepping into a senior role within crucial defence programs. Your focus will be on providing technical guidance and mentorship across our engineering operations in Australia. This position empowers you to interact closely with key stakeholders and establish connections with engineering professionals globally, alongside senior figures in defence.
Your responsibilities include making critical technical decisions, evaluating design options and change proposals, and spearheading the technical decision-making process. Collaborating closely with the Product Architect, technical specialists, and the design authority, you'll ensure that the design approach aligns with technical requirements and maintains its status.
Qualifications and experience to be successful;
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
- Previous experience in leading technical aspects of engineering projects, encompassing the development of intricate systems, including both hardware and software, and their integration into larger systems
- Demonstrated ability to represent the company as a technical expert at internal and external customer meetings.
- Robust leadership abilities with a track record of making technical decisions, complemented by experience in mentoring and assisting fellow engineering and project team members.
- Experience and expertise in command, control, and communications systems within a defence context, specifically focusing on tactical data links.
- Proven track record as a systems engineer across all phases of the systems development lifecycle, encompassing requirements gathering, design, decomposition, integration, verification/validation, and production transition.
- Previous involvement in bid and pursuit activities within the Australian government's acquisition framework.
