ABOUT THIS ROLE
As the Program Technical Lead reporting directly to the Associate Director, Engineering Australia, you'll be at the helm of crucial defence initiatives, offering technical guidance and mentorship within our Australian engineering operations. Your role involves direct engagement with key stakeholders, a global network of engineering professionals, and senior defence personnel.
With authority to make technical decisions, assess design options and change proposals, you'll lead the decision-making process. Collaborating closely with the Product Architect, technical experts, and design authority, you'll ensure that design approaches align with technical requirements.
Your responsibilities extend to fostering the development of innovative design approaches, technologies, and process enhancements, driving continuous improvement. Your expertise will ensure the systematic translation of customer requirements into comprehensive systems solutions, considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

SKILLS & EXPERINECE NEEDED
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1.
- Australian Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Technical leadership of engineering projects
- Experience with product development of complex systems, including hardware, software development, and system integration.
- Experience and knowledge of command and control of communications systems in a Defence environment.
- Strong experience with tactical data links.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to represent the company as a technical expert.
- Strong leadership skills and experience making technical decisions.
- Experience with mentoring and supporting other engineering and project team members.
- Demonstrated experience as a systems engineer throughout the entire systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation, as well as transition to production.
- Prior experience with bids in an Australian government acquisition model
- Familiarity with engineering development in a DEVSECOPS environment.
