The Smith Family is a children's education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.
We are seeking a Programs Cordinator, Growing Careers to join our organisation. Reporting to the State Project Lead, Growing Careers and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will coordinate the delivery of programs and activities across Project Partner schools to meet the delivery targets of the Growing Careers Project across the Sunshine Coast.
With a desire to support secondary students to engage in four or more career related conversations through the life of the project, this role will work to contribute to stronger school attendance and Year 12 attainment as a result.
About our role
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the delivery and administration of appropriate career related programs and activities in Project Partner schools
- Work with schools to identify ‘best fit' career related programs and activities to meet student needs and support career aspirations
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Project Partner schools and relevant community agencies
- Support Project Partner schools to deliver quality program delivery year on year across life of project.
- Maintain program fidelity throughout the course of implementation
- Recruit, induct and train volunteers as well as ongoing support of volunteers engaged in program delivery and administration activities
- Support broader programs by working closely with other local Smith Family teams to identify potential Learning for Life scholarship participants to engage in Growing Careers Project programs and activities
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Understanding of the education sector
- Understanding of post school pathways
- Experience in career related supports would be highly valued
- Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating programs / projects
- Proven experience in establishing and maintaining relevant partnerships
- Demonstrated experience in administration
- High level interpersonal and communication skills
- Hold a current driver's licence
- Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check
