Your focus will be working with the various operations managers and project leads across our business lines to, setting up the administration processes and cost control pre-contract, and the maintenance of the billing system of post award and financial and commercial aspects of the projects. The role will
work closely with the Finance & Cost Controls Team Lead and various project teams across Australia.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Leading the full life cycle financial management or the Projects within the Region, including review of contractual terms relating to pricing, billing, job / project cost reviews to ensure complete, variation claim analysis and accurate timely billing and financial close out of projects
- Processing with accuracy accounts receivable (debtor) transactions for clients in accordance with Group policy and protocols
- Liaising with and assisting the project/ operations teams to ensure clients are invoiced correctly and in a timely manner.
- Minimizing work in progress (WIP) balances and accrued revenues
- Assurance of the preparation and sending invoices, statements and credit note adjustments to clients as required.
- Coordinating debtors chasing efforts and reporting of debt collection issues to Management
- Maintaining accounts receivable files and records
- Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries relating to billings, collections, client contractual terms and the like.
- Supporting month end & year end process.
You will be a team player with solid experience in a similar position, preferably in the resources industry. You will be proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications and have experience working in an ERP system. Your attention to detail will be second-to-none, and you’ll be a well organised individual.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project cost control / billing.
- An accounting qualification such as CPA or diploma in cost control with significant experience within an organisation of similar size and complexity.
