Are you ready for a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on the lives of First Nations peoples? We are seeking 3x Project Advisors (1x Ongoing & 2x Non ongoing) to join our Eastern Divisional Office at the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) based in Brisbane.
About Us
The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the ATSI Act and subject to the PGPA Act. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and fresh water country.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will:
  • Work closely with Indigenous Australians and other stakeholders to have a significant impact on the lives of First Nations peoples.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and facilitate a collaborative approach to project development to optimise and deliver sustainable economic, environmental, social or cultural benefits to Indigenous Australians.
  • Proactively develop proposals for the ILSC to assist Indigenous Organisations to acquire land and water rights or manage land that they already own to deliver sustainable economic, environmental, social or cultural benefits.
  • Undertake research, market analysis, project scoping, due diligence and feasibility analysis of projects to establish the business case for ILSC investment.
  • Individually or in a team, prepare for and facilitate workshops to assist stakeholders and the ILSC to make informed decisions, and to set and monitor future objectives regarding land and water ownership and management.
  • Plan, negotiate, develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and agencies in order to foster beneficial partnerships to enhance and extend the application of ILSC programs.
  • Partner with stakeholders and co-investors to increase the reach and impact of projects.
  • Manage existing and new land and water acquisition and management projects so that sustainable outcomes are achieved in a timely manner and project compliance is maintained.
  • Prepare high quality reports, Board papers and briefings related to land and water acquisition and management functions in accordance with agreed ILSC processes and procedures.
At the ILSC we offer:
  • More than just a job. We offer you the opportunity to make a real, positive difference to the lives of First Nations peoples. When we return land and water Country to Indigenous ownership, or fund a new Indigenous enterprise or management project, we strengthen and deepen Indigenous connection to Country and advance progress towards self-determination.
  • The prospect to fast-track your career by working on high impact projects across Australia.
  • Generous leave entitlements and work conditions, including:
  • 4% superannuation on top of your salary
  • Flexible hybrid work environment (2 days WFH)
  • Not-For-Profit salary packaging
  • Paid leave between the Christmas and New Year’s period

The preferred applicant will be engaged under the provisions of the ILC Enterprise Agreement.
Targeted Vacancy – This role is open to all applicants, however those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and meet the requirements and are ranked suitable for the role will be given priority consideration in this recruitment process. nrmjobs.com.au/job/20020345
