As a Systems Engineer in the Collins Submarine Program, you will perform an important role in the upgrade of Defence submarine capability, specifically submarine communications system. You will work in a dynamic and diverse environment requiring a number of key skills to undertake the following tasks:
- Perform complex activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation, testing and working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
- Deliver complex Systems Engineering services and products through planning, organisation control and integration.
- Apply knowledge and experience to undertake objective and systematic analysis to develop complex system engineering products to meet Defence objectives.
- Implement processes across the Systems Engineering lifecycle using technical and professional knowledge and experience.
- Work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders to understand their requirements and solve complex issues as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Communicate with stakeholders and line management regarding engineering and technical aspects across the Defence materiel capability lifecycle including preparing briefs, proposals, reports and presentations.
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks in the preparation and approval of technical submissions, estimates, specifications and documents.
- Analyse complex Systems Engineering issues using knowledge and experience to identify and recommend solutions.

You are a qualified Engineer who is diligent, can perform and achieve complex engineering work within an integrated workforce supporting delivery of modernised submarine communications system. You will engage with stakeholders and investigate engineering concepts within a specific engineering discipline including managing specifications and resources in support of the Defence materiel capability lifecycle. You will investigate, analyse and report recommendations and advice to address issues.The candidate will be able to demonstrate and apply technical knowledge and experience to develop and review design packages, identify risks and uncertainties and consider these in planning, decision-making and priority setting. You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
