Job description

HSBC Australia

Some career choices have more impact than others.

At HSBC we exist with the purpose of Opening up a World of Opportunity. We use our unique expertise, capabilities, breadth and perspectives to provide opportunities for our customers and colleagues through global connectivity. We bring together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world – for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.

As an HSBC employee in Australia, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities, competitive pay, an embedded flexible working culture and a range of employee benefits. These include market-leading subsidised private health cover, enhanced parental pay and support when returning to work, subsidised banking products and services, bonus leave days and wellness programmes including discounted gym memberships.

As a Project Delivery Lead you will play a vital role in our international growth program, where the focus is on driving offshore acquisition particularly in key segments like professional migrants, international students, and international investors. The goal is to increase market share among these groups to meet our growth targets. While the primary focus is on offshore activity in regions like Hong Kong, China, India, and the UK, it's also critical to target "new to country" customers as offshore efforts don't always lead to pre-departure acquisition. The role requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders locally and globally to execute on the international growth strategy.

Please note this is a fixed term contract role for 9 months.

Overall role summary:

•Develop a comprehensive operating model to support customer growth through partnerships
•Create a Partnership Performance dashboard to track key performance indicators, risks, and issues, allowing for effective monthly reporting
•Assist in evaluating and onboarding new partners to support international customer growth, considering factors like opportunity size and target markets
•Support partner onboarding processes and ensure compliance with HSBC's partner onboarding framework and control.

There are two essential pillars in this role (Project Management and Communication).

About Project Management:

•Plan and direct the international connectivity program, managing scope, budget, schedule, and risks
•Ensure alignment with Agile methodologies. Conduct daily stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning, and reviews to maintain project momentum
•Identify and resolve risks/issues/dependencies during the project lifecycle, escalating when necessary to ensure project success
•Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues
•Drive a culture of achievement by removing barriers to project success and maintaining project change control.

About Collaboration & Communication:

•Work closely with the International Growth Strategy Lead, Head of Premier and International Segment, and other stakeholders across HSBC Group
•Ensure timely communication and buy-in from project sponsors, Steering Committee, and key stakeholders for all project plans, commitments, and changes
•Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

•Exposure to propositions, product management or sales distribution
•Experience working as a Business Analyst/Program Lead in Banking or Financial Services is preferred but not a must
•Strong business analysis and project management skills
•Experience with Agile methodologies
•Experience in Partnerships or account management
•Proven experience with mass affluent and international client segments
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on key objectives.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.

We value different perspectives, we succeed together, collaborating across boundaries, we take responsibility, holding ourselves accountable to get things done. Through these values, HSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are appreciated and respected and where opinions count. We take pride in providing a workplace that fosters continuous professional development, flexible working and opportunities to grow in an inclusive environment. Applications from First Nations peoples are encouraged.
