The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.  

The Project Delivery Manager will report to Infrastructure Delivery/Manager of Projects and will be responsible for managing the project management and project engineering function for delivery of capital expenditure on behalf of Transgrid, typically Non-Prescribed (Lumea/Customer) projects. You will ensure that Transgrid meets best practice standards for project management and engineering, with a focus on project management excellence, project engineering, customer management and delivery.

The role contributes to the success of the business through working together with the leadership team on the creation of successful strategies and execution of these strategies to meet Infrastructure Delivery objectives. High levels of stakeholder management and influencing skills are required for the role.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience and demonstrated success in the management and development of a large capital works program and in Project Delivery
  • Experience and demonstrated success with managing external customers
  • Experience and demonstrated success delivering greenfield and brownfield projects
  • Developed business acumen and management skills
  • Collaborative and decisive behaviour style
  • Integrity and commitment to ethical practice, equity and diversity
  • Developed negotiation and presentations skills
  • Proven resource and people management skills
  • Experience and ability to contribute to the marketing, business development and strategic decision making of the department
  • Competent in the application of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements relative to the duties of the position
  • Substantial and demonstrated experience in project management for energy networks
  • Substantial experience and demonstrated success in the management of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead a highly skilled project team and to promote and represent TransGrid in customer negotiations, community consultations and with planning and regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrated strong customer service focus and relationship building.
