Focus of the Role
As a Project Delivery Senior Specialist, play an integral role in the successful delivery of projects in your Program. You use your expert specialist skills in project and stakeholder management to enable programs and projects to optimise delivery across multiple disciplines to meet customer expectations. You are a key contributor to overall program planning, scheduling, and management reporting.
You are recognised by your peers for supporting the development of engaged and high performing matrix teams that deliver great outcomes for our customers. You are adept at working with complex stakeholder environments where you manage expectations and deliver within budget, quality and scope constraints.
You are a key contributor in the National Infrastructure Projects leadership community and actively contribute to the growth of the team and others by delivering insights and guidance that enables growth and skills uplift. What You’ll Do
Telstra InfraCo - National Infrastructure Projects is responsible for Telstra's major infrastructure projects, such as the rollout of its InterCity Fibre network.
- Collaborate with project managers and key stakeholders, and significantly contribute to planning and delivery of an E2E program of work. Using appropriate tools such as: MS Project, excel, APEX to support this work.
- Use confident and effective communication to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, leaders, team members and delivery partners to build engagement and deliver win-win outcomes on Telstra priorities.
- Lead virtual teams across functional groups to deliver outcomes with the right engagement, providing visibility of progress and issues and quickly reacting to course correct when plans need to change.
- Use your deep expertise in program management to ensure program delivery aligns with overall business unit outcomes for build progress, capex spend, safety and design standards.
- Complete program administration activities to enable effective delivery, including (but not limited to): Cost tracking aligned with Telstra Financial Management policies, Risk & Issues Management processes, tools and Quality reporting requirements.
- Active contribution to the development of team identity and positive culture.
- Model continuous professional and personal growth and showcasing learning from experience in relation your specialist skill area and broader program enablement capabilities.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years of experience leading a PM CoE team.
- Demonstrated experience establishing a PM CoE, with data points illustrating outcomes achieved.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, including Prince 2, PMP, Agile and Waterfall.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to motivate and lead through influence, rather than control, to drive change at all levels in InfraCo.
- Proven ability to lead and manage change and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing project management methodologies, standards, and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or a Diploma in Project Management (PMBOK) are well regarded.
