We are looking for a Project Director to join our GWS Local and lead the Central West projects division (WA, SA and NT). Based in Perth, the Project Director will drive the business unit's project plan, developing and leading a Project Management team. Instrumental in managing internal controllership, process improvement driving business strategy and generating a sales pipeline to deliver revenue to the business unit.
Here is a Snapshot of your day:
- Ensure the safe delivery of projects through the management of risk and competence.
- Recruit and retain talent for the present delivery and future growth of projects.
- Provide leadership to the Central West Principal Projects Division, include staff management, mentoring and coaching
- Maximise profit through cost reductions and better buying of subcontractor services.
- Plan and develop long term opportunities by creating a pipeline of opportunities.
- Liaise with colleagues managers to determine and identify project opportunities. Create case studies to promote business and host key decision makers on show site tours.
- Develop and manage all bids, tenders and proposals.
- Seek out opportunities to generate projects through innovation and different technologies.
- Lead the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings.
- Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other applications as appropriate.
- Delivery wider strategy and new process delivery across projects business ensuring compliance with projects business governance.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven track record safely delivering exceptional projects in either an M&E, FM, construction, or critical environments.
- Experience of developing new project opportunities
- Proven experience of running a P&L
- Demonstrable evidence of having managed a team
- Experience of creating, presenting and managing on bids, tenders and proposals.
- Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity
- Has vision, and able to communicate this effectively.
- Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/Bang/BArch) required from College or University.
Minimum of eight years of related progressive experience and/or training.
Prior experience in a supervisory position (direct report responsibilities) preferred if specific duties include direct report responsibilities.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
LEED AP preferred
PMP preferred (US and/or Canada)
CCM preferred
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
