In this role you will:
• Oversee SQCP-Stage 2 Operations work package activities to ensure that all phases of project development are completed within specifications, project timeframes and within budget.
• Provide high level expert advice to the Operations Project Control Group on strategic evidence-based, best-practice Operations Services, ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives and priorities of QCS and SQCP-S2.
• Lead the development of effective security and intelligence models for SQCP-S2.
• Establish a framework for the management of the safety and security of the centre's equipment and processes, in preparation for the operations of SQCP-S2.
• Ensure the centre establishes a coordinated approach to emergency situations and the maintenance of effective offender security procedures and controls through the development of required plans and response documentation.
• Manage the delivery of strategic documents for the operational readiness of SQCP-S2 and the management and rehabilitation of prisoners.
• Provide leadership to the Operations Project team in the development of considered, integrated, person-centric and evidence based offender development and accommodation functions for prisoners at SQCP-S2.
• Ensure operational systems and project outcomes are designed in compliance with departmental procedures and processes.
• Work collaboratively with all workstreams to deliver products that are aligned with the Operating Principles of SQCP-S2.
• Lead the project team to ensure project outcomes and initiatives are delivered effectively and within specified project timeframes.
• Manage interdependences and coordination across the project, establishing and maintaining project management, governance, risk, project finance and reporting system framework, standards and tools to drive and facilitate the successful design of the infrastructure to support the delivery of the therapeutic model within the facility of SQCP-Stage 2
• Oversee project planning activities to ensure that all phases of project development are completed within specifications, project timeframes and within budget
• Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with Custodial operations, Community Corrections, QCS Specialist Operations, Queensland Health and a range of internal and external service providers and stakeholders to ensure all parties are kept well informed of project milestones and priorities and the centre is operationally ready to open.
• Develop and implement best practice project management principles, practices, methodologies, and tools to facilitate effective project delivery.
• Manage the development of innovative, contemporary, and fit for purpose solutions in the project, ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives and priorities of QCS and SQCP-S2
• Manage the successful implementation of initiatives and project outcomes/recommendations, ensuring the intended benefits are realised.
• Represent QCS on SQCC-Stage 2 and relevant committees and provide advice and guidance.
• Provide leadership to broader project teams to achieve QCS objectives under the direction of the senior leadership team
