Are you ready to take on a critical role supporting the Education Editorial team deliver secondary school resources for a market-leading Australian publisher? Cambridge University Press & Assessment, one of the most respected publishing companies in the world, seeks a Project Editor to manage production of titles on our list of Year 7–12 print and digital products for the national education market.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of select print textbooks, digital resources, teacher support, and other instructional materials across a range of subjects for secondary schools throughout Australia.
This is an ongoing full-time role and would suit someone with 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the delivery of select projects on the local Education list – both print and digital formats – under the supervision of the Senior Project Editor/Managing Editor.
- Maintaining internal relationships with colleagues across other teams, including Production, Sales, Marketing and Publishing.
- Maintaining editorial quality standards through knowledge of editorial styles, markup and editing skills, as well as ensuring documentation and briefs contain all requirements and are up to date.
The successful candidate will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Communications, Publishing or a closely related field
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Well-developed English language writing and comprehension skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills
- The ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
- Keen analytical and research skills
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- A positive outlook and enthusiastic attitude
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe products
- Knowledge and awareness of HTML, XML, MathML and LaTeX (highly desirable)
Candidates with undergraduate-level education in a mathematics or science-related field will be looked upon favourably, as will those with familiarity/experience with LaTeX and html coding.
