Reporting to the Manager Projects, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, specification and quality assurance to achieve the safe and efficient projects across the site to the highest quality.
About the Role
- Support the Operation through leading the design of critical Capital Expenditure projects ahead of mining including fixed infrastructure, civil construction, MIA facilities, In-pit facilities and water management infrastructure.
- Provide visible leadership, advice and support to employees and contractors.
- Lead engineering designs from concept to detailed design and execution.
- Develop project plans and schedules to support project execution activities including Approval for Expenditure documentation, Scope of Works, technical specifications, tender documentation and cost estimates.
- Liaise with Stakeholders to ensure operational and functional aspects are considered in the planning phase to achieve positive business outcomes.
Roster and Location
- Permanent, Full Time
- Monday to Friday roster (Day shift)
- Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)
About You
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence & liaise with key stakeholders.
- High level leadership skills with the ability to set clear expectations to the team through clear & concise communication.
- High level attention to detail and record keeping skills.
- Sound technical and commercial understanding of engineering in the coal industry Engineering Degree/Diploma (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical preferrable).
- Ability to manage project timelines and ensure scheduled works are aligned with project & stakeholder commitments Project management qualifications and training.
- Strong commitment to a culture of safety, teamwork and innovation.
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Previous civil and/or mechanical construction experience highly regarded.
- Experience with design drawing software eg CAD (Preferrable).
- Familiarity with risk management, safety in design and quality assurance controls.
