Work Location: Dawson Road, Perth Airport
Roster: Monday to Friday
Working as part of the manufacturing readiness and electrolysis technology development teams at Fortescue Hydrogen Production Systems, this position will assist with the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing of technical activities to ensure we develop R&D project from concept to commercialisation with accuracy and quality.
This position would suit a Project Engineer who has worked in an R&D or startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and documenting product development plans, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects including preparation of interim update reports and presentations to management
- Formulating project parameters as per the project owner's requirements and assigning responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team
- Review and approve project technical specifications - designs, SoW, functional specifications
- Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field
- Creating and maintaining a project team dashboard to ensure that all members of the team have transparent access to schedules, plans, and reporting on the status of each project
- Cooperating and communicating with the wider Manufacturing Team and other project participants and collaborating with Senior Engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability
- Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Project Engineering or a related field
- Prior experience preferably in the energy, infrastructure or resources sector, or large complex major projects
- Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams (also delivering a variation of the system)
- The ability to work with multiple discipline projects in an R&D environment
- Highly experienced in MS Project and MS products
