UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink’s delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The Role

As the Project Accountant, you will be responsible for establishing and controlling project finances, deep diving into data and generating financial reports, providing insight, and leading process improvement in the tracking and management of financial and cost data. Working with the Project Finance Manager, you will provide necessary financial support to maximise contract outcomes and allow the business to clearly establish a projects likely net financial position at completion.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide the Finance Manager with financial assessments and information with which to ensure planning and budgeting activities meet Contract goals.
• Accountable for ensuring the month end process is run in an efficient and timely manner, complying with time schedules as per set deadlines. Active hands on participation to ensure business unit meets all deadlines.
• Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, margin results and the Contract/Project actual performance compared to the budget/forecast plans controlling income, cash flow and expenditure.
• Ensure budgets and forecasts for all relevant projects within the portfolio are appropriately forecast and uploaded into SAP.Actively work with and manage the output of Cost Administrators to ensure quality and timely information is captured.
