EPEC are seeking the services of a Specialist High Voltage Project Engineer that will assist and lead engineering decisions onsite during the construction of high voltage substations and transmission lines projects. Also, you will work closely with EPEC's design team, our clients, and suppliers to ensure their requirements and specifications are met during the design phase and delivered successfully in relation to, time, cost, and quality. In order to be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills, and appropriately prioritising those tasks' completion.Substation Project Engineer:
· Scoping, coordinating, and delivering projects from proposal through execution to close out, ensuring technical requirements are being fulfilled, as well as meeting scheduling, budgeting and quality requirements.
· Providing overall technical leadership on engineering aspect projects.
· Leading and developing a team of PEs to deliver successful project outcomes, while creating a positive and collaborative work culture
· Managing the allocation, utilisation and performance of PEs reporting to the role
· Supporting the development of PEs reporting to the role
· Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, customers and subcontractors from the bidding phase through to project execution.
· Assist with on-site management to ensure project success.
· Ensure project plan is moving forward to meet anticipated deadlines.
· Responsible for RFI and submittal process
· Processes owner billings and project related accounting issues
· Work with the construction manager to ensure onsite works are delivered as per the design and client specifications.
· Working the Lead Designer to produce design deliverables, lead decisions with the site works, ensuring compliance to EPEC and clients' quality systems.
· Develop ITPs and work packs for Electrical installation work packages.
· Check electrical works, Test Sheets, and signoff ITPs for completed works.
· Manage site-based design information and engineering decision making ensuring that site engineering decisions are made in a timely and cost-effective manner.
· Ensuring that all construction certificates are obtained, that the construction releases are obtained that the client's specifications/contract call for.
· Ensure all site-based design documentation (as built mark-ups and configurations) are returned to the design office updating markups.
· Managing and co-ordinate the revision and version control of the design on site, including document registers, design information requirements for sub-contractors, request for information, mark-ups and site instructions, and liaising with the design team as required.
· Assist with development and writing of Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&M) to meet client and contractual expectations.
· Liaise with design houses as required.
· Assist with the development and delivery of Substation SCADA and Communications solutions for EPEC's current and future projects, including communications and controls design, completion of functional description, electrical schematics and termination drawings and data/IO/loading lists.
· Support the team with SCADA and Communications “Proof of Concept” testing and site acceptance testing with the relevant Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP) as required.
· Assist with the development of the required SCADA points list to ensure compliance with the TNSP, AEMO and the Solar Farm/Battery Storage SCADA providers.
· Assist with the design and development optimisation and value engineering initiatives for SCADA and communication system offerings.
· Involvement with the resolution and close out of SCADA issues on projects as required.
· Assist with the development of project controls including QA, document control and the like (including other project related documents likely to be expected to be required by clients during project delivery).
· Provide engineering / technical advice to project stakeholders as required.
