Our versatile marine fleet and experienced staff are experts in a wide range of activities that include vessel handling, crew management, harbour deliveries, salvages, marine construction, wharf maintenance, crane barges, heritage works, marine piling and silt curtain installations.
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to be based in our Sydney office commencing immediately. The position is initially offered on a fixed term basis for the project duration with an expected completion towards the end of 2024, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.
The Project Engineer is an integral role within the company and an important member of the project management team.
This role will assist with the tendering, planning, resourcing and delivery management of project requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Working together with management and team members to plan the resources required to achieve project outcomes
- Ensure the project is delivered safely and on time in a safety focused culture
- Accurately tracking forecast revenue, profitability, margins, and expenses for project works
- Assist with the development of project related management plans
- Effectively managing resources to ensure achievement of project delivery and schedules.
- Coordinate and supervise the efficient management of direct labour, subcontractor and materials
- Providing timely and accurate information to meet the management and client requirements.
- Working closely with the project team to ensure project activities are completed safely, within budget, and in a timely manner.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
About You:
- Previous Maritime projects experience
- Tertiary Qualifications (Other qualifications considered if applicant can demonstrate proven experience in a marine environment)
- 3 - 5 years' industry experience in Australia.
- Exposure to or knowledge in the following is desirable:
- Marine Construction
- Piling
- Concrete Works
- Bridge and Wharf Construction
- Tugs and Barges
- Strong customer focus and service delivery ethics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
- Experience in dealing with regulatory and statutory requirements within the marine industry.
- Valid Australian Drivers licence.
