Project Engineer

OHPSA is responsible for several South Australian government priorities including:

• Delivering the Hydrogen Jobs Plan, which will see the development of a world leading hydrogen-fuelled power station, hydrogen production facility and associated storage in the Upper Spencer Gulf by the end of 2025
• Working with industry partners to deliver the Port Bonython Hydrogen Export Hub project as South Australia's first large-scale export terminal for hydrogen
• Hydrogen industry development activities to ensure South Australia is at the forefront of renewable hydrogen production

Role Description:

The Project Engineer works across OHPSA’s project functions and is responsible for ensuring the effective coordination and control of engineering works for a designated project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, procurement and quality control in the Hydrogen Jobs Plan and Port Bonython Hydrogen Hub projects, at project and overall program level. Additional projects may also form part of the role scope.

The Project Engineer provides high level advice and support to OHPSA’s leadership to ensure that effective and efficient internal control systems and accountability exist and are maintained across the projects.

Key requirements:

• Project Management including programming/scheduling, procurement and technical aspects and reporting on performance
• Work with the Engineering Manager in managing the day-to-day management and administration
• Support delivery of projects ensuring project targets are met in line with the project program and proactively working to stay ahead of the project schedule
• Managing budget allowances against actual hours spent and maintaining quality records on the project as required
• Managing client, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships, acts as an interface between OHPSA’s commercial advisors, Owner’s Engineering and other work streams
• Coordination with Engineering Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
