BioCina is a biologics contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in process development and cGMP manufacture of microbial-based therapeutics and plasmid DNA, from preclinical to commercial production. The site, approved by the FDA for commercial manufacturing in 2020, has 35+ years of microbial fermentation experience and over the past 15 years, has worked on over 50 different products and has partnered with more than 30 customers globally.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Engineer (Facility Expansion) to lead our Facility Expansion project on a Fixed Term Contract for 2 years. As part of our growing organization, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the expansion of our facility, ensuring seamless execution from conception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist facilities architects and engineers during the design process with critical review of drawings and scopes of work.
- Provide technical advice and assistance during design development and assure compliance with building code, which includes overseeing the process of obtaining building permits and inspections
- Select vendors and manage vendor activity and performance to ensure compliance with the objectives of the project.
- Tracking facilities projects using project management software and financial reports.
- Implement risk management strategies to proactively address potential challenges.
- Oversight of contractors, performing site visits to monitor progress and quality of work performed by contractors, vendors, and consultants, developing, and controlling project budgets, managing project documentation, and coordinating contractors with internal personnel.
- Perform procurement-related duties including the development of detailed scopes of work, contractor pre-bid job walks, review of contractor proposals, preparation of bid tabs, and the preparation of purchase requisitions
- Provide management with up-to-date status on assigned projects including budgets, costs, and schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of Construction Project Management experience.
- Proven track records in project management within the biopharma manufacturing environments, preferably in facilities expansion or construction.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools and project management methodologies.
- Strong organization and leadership skills.
- Ability to meet timelines and manage budgets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
